Taurus Hill Observatory research team members Markku Nissinen and Veli-Pekka Hentunen observed the afterglow of the GRB 090418B with the Global-rent-a-scope GRAS002 Tak Mewlon 0,3 meter telescope that is located in the New Mexico. Markku And Veli-Pekka used 600 sec. unfiltered exposure times. The pictures were taken about 19 hours after the detection of the GRB 19.4.2009 klo 03.50 – 05.30 (UT). Despite the good conditions the GRB wasn’t visible in the pictures with limiting magnitude of 20.5. It seems that there aren’t any optical observation about this GRB.
Markku and Veli-Pekka reported their observations to the NASA GCN and the observation was published in the GCN 9181. The GRB should be in the middle of the picture below according the observations of the Swift BATSS (GCN 9159).
Observers: Markku Nissinen and Veli-Pekka Hentunen.
