The comet C/2007 F1 (LONEOS) was observed at Taurus Hill Observatory 10.10.2007 05:15 – 05:26 finnish time (+3h UTC). Just after the photographing the clouds came and it started to rain water and snow.

In this picture the north is in the left and the east in the bottom. This picture is a combine of the ten 60 sec. individual exposured picture. The field of view is about 10×7 arc minutes. The tail of the comet is very visible and it has a lenght of 7′. The coma of the comet is about 2′ to 3′ large.

The comet C/2007 F1 (LONEOS) was in very low position in the sky while photographing and the weather was not as ideal as it could have been. Also the low temperature and the humidity in the correction lens of the S-C telescope made the observation quite challenging.

Observers: Veli-Pekka Hentunen and Markku Nissinen
