Confirmation picture of the SN 2009ds.

Markku Nissinen and Veli-Pekka Hentunen photographed the confirmation pictures for the supernova SN 2009ds 29.4.2009 by using the GRAS004 telescope that is located in the Mayhill, New Mexico. The supernova was discovered by the Koichi Itagaki 28.4.2009. It had a brightness of 16.8 magnitudes when discovered and it is located in the galaxy NGC 3905 about 280 million light years from the Earth. Supernova is type SBc and it was brightnening very fast at the moment of the discovery. In a day its brightness increased about one magnitude. According the measurements made by Nissinen and Hentunen, the brightness of the supernova was 15.9R magnitudes 29.4.2009 07:50 Finnish time.
