Comet ISON photographed with a DSLR-camera

THO research team member Jari Juutilainen photographed the comet ISON with a DSLR-camera in Tampere 19.10.2013. Jari used 164 x 1,6 second exposures and after combining the images, the comet was visible in the final picture.

Comet C/2009 F6 (Yi-SWAN) was photographed at Taurus Hill Observatory 25./26.4.2009 just after the sunset. The comet was visible in the northern sky before the midnight. The comet was about 9 magnitudes bright at the moment of the photographing, but due the light sky and difficult position it was only visible in the CCD -pictures. […]

C/2008 T2 (Cardinal) photographed by the Hentunen and Nissinen.

Comet C/2008 T2 (Cardinal) is located in high elevation in the Auriga constellation. It has a brightness of 11 magnitudes so it is visible only with the large telescopes. The Taurus Hill Observatory research team photographed this very dim comet 1.4.2009. Observers: Markku Nissinen and Veli-Pekka Hentunen.
