(Tämä uutinen suomeksi) Comet Holmes is still a very bright object in the night sky. Here are a few photographs that the research team member Harri Haukka took in Espoo 01.11.2007 about 19:00 (finnish time). Tommi Kumlin has been participating THO activities many years and he has attended our CCD- and Telescope-courses and he has good knowledge of CCD-observing. Here are pictures of Messier 57 and Messier 27 taken by Tommi Kumlin. (Tämä uutinen suomeksi)

29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 1 observed at Taurus Hill Observatory.

Posted by & filed under .

29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 1, discovered 1925, orbits the Sun behind the Jupiter in quite round orbit. It does not come near the Sun and therefore it can be only observed by the telescope and CCD -camera. The interesting thing in this comet is that it has a material bursts time to time. These bursts can effect so that the […]

Comet 93P/Lovas 1 is near the Sun every ninth year. Comet does not reach the higher magnitude than mag. 13, so it is mainly only a comet that can be observed with telesopce and CCD -camera. Taurus Hill Observatory research group member Veli-Pekka Hentunen photographed this comet in 12./13.10.2007 4.05 – 4.23 finnish time. The comet was […]
