Venus Transit 2004 – Results Taurus Hill Observatorys measurements and results Taurus Hill Observatorys observing group made two separate timings about Venus transit. First one was meade with 12″ Meade LX200GPS -telescope and second one with TAL-1 and Helios Skyliner -telescopes. This research main purpose was to measure the distance between the Sun and Earth. […]

The transit of the exoplanet TrES-2b observed in THO.

Posted by & filed under , .

Taurus Hill Observatory made fourth successful exoplanet observation by observing the lightcurve of the TrES-2. The measurements were made in 25./26.9.2006. The photometry was made with R -filter with 60 sec. exposures. Weather was very clear, but a small fog and light clouds made the end of the observation quite challenging. Also the object was […]

Light curve of the exoplanet HD189733b transit.

Posted by & filed under , .

We observed light curve of the exoplanet HD189733b transit at  16/17 of September in 2006. We used photometrical R-filter and each exposure time was 15 s. Photometric analysis is done in AIP4Win2 software and light curve and magnitude error bars in Peranso2.02 sofware. Differential magnitude V-Ens decreasing over 0.03 magnitude was detected. Central time of the transit was 2006 09 […]

XO-1b exoplanet transit observed in THO.

Posted by & filed under , .

Taurus Hill Observatory was able to measure the transit of the XO-1b in the night 26./27.8.2006. This is a quite good result, because the target star was so low in the northern sky. Despite that the observing team Veli-Pekka Hentunen, Markku Nissinen and Harri Haukka got a really clear lightcurve. Conditions were quite good. Humidity was […]

Exoplanets HD149026 b, HD189733 b and HD209458 b.

Posted by & filed under , .

We have observed in Taurus Hill Observatory light curves during three known exoplanet transits. Exoplanets are HD149026 b, HD189733 b and HD209458 b. HD149026 b and HD189733 b observations are made in the end part of the transit. HD209458 b observation is made from the beginning of the transit and continues to brightening of the star in the end […]
