Asteroid 7 Iris photographed in THO.

Asteroid 7 Iris was photographed in Taurus Hill Observatory 27./28.11.2006 by Markku Nissinen and Veli-Pekka Hentunen. The asteroid is now about 7,2 magnitude bright object and it is 130 million kilometers away from the Earth. This picture is taken with clear filter and 15 sec. exposure. (Tämä uutinen suomeksi)

We observed WASP-2b exoplanet transit first time in Taurus Hill Observatory Varkaus, early in the evening (17.00-19.30 Finnish time) in the 3th of November. WASP-1b transit pictures were taken with SBIG ST-8XME CCD -camera and R -filter. The exposures were 90 s per picture and the time used for transit photographing was 7 hours. Veli-Pekka Hentunen photographed SWAN (C/2006 M4) -comet and Levy (P/2006 T1) -comet in Taurus Hill Observatory 19./20.10.2006.
