Comet ISON photographed with a DSLR-camera
THO research team member Jari Juutilainen photographed the comet ISON with a DSLR-camera in Tampere 19.10.2013. Jari used 164 x 1,6 second exposures and after combining the images, the comet was visible in the final picture.
Dim Nova Del 2013 observed
THO research team member Jari Juutilainen managed to photograph the Nova Del 2013 13.10.2013 despite it was quite dim, only about 10.5 magnitudes. In single photograph, the nova wasn’t visible, but when Jari stacked two photos, the nova was visible. Exoplanet KOI1540 observed at THO
Observed by Kepler-satellite, but still marked as unconfirmed exoplanet, the KOI1540 was observed at Taurus Hill Observatory 3.-4.10.2013. Bright fireball photographed.
On Tuesday 10.9. about 02:06 (Finnish time) Taurus Hill Observatory all sky -camera photographed a very bright fireball (meteor). The brightness of the fireball was about same than full Moon has. THO reasearch team managed to observe and photograph the after glow of the GRB 130831A about 7 hours after Swift-telescope discovered it.
